Six Nations at Murrayfield 🏉

A trip to Edinburgh to watch England vs Scotland at Murrayfield sounded like a pretty perfect weekend to me. Being English and a huge rugby fan I went into the game feeling fairly confident. That confidence didn’t last very long!

Before heading to the stadium, we had lunch at DINE Murrayfield⁠, which is really close to the stadium. I’ll admit my expectations for a rugby-day lunch weren’t particularly high — rugby lunches aren’t exactly known for amazing food. But this was actually really good. DINE focuses on seasonal Scottish produce, and it felt much more like a proper restaurant lunch than just somewhere to fill up before the match.

Then it was on to Murrayfield for the main event. The atmosphere for Scotland vs England is always going to be pretty intense, especially when you’re an England fan surrounded by thousands of Scots. Unfortunately for us, Scotland were the better side on the day and won 31–20, taking back the Calcutta Cup.

Not exactly the result I was hoping for, but Murrayfield is an amazing place to watch rugby and the atmosphere was incredible.

Good lunch, great stadium, wrong result - I guess two out of three ain’t bad.
